Characteristics
- Argonaute 2 (Ago2, aka EIF2C2) is a member of the Argonaute family of proteins involved in RNAi mediated gene silencing through siRNA and miRNA effectors. The Argonaute proteins are part of RISC, the RNAi Induced Silencing Complex. Binding of RISC can inhibit mRNA translation and results in the degradation of the mRNA through the action of Ago2-mediated target cleavage. Ago2 antibody (mAb) (Clone 1B1-E2H5) was raised in a Mouse host. It has been validated for use in Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation and Western blot, it has been shown to react with Human samples.
