Characteristics
- PAX7 (Paired-box protein 7, PAX7) is a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors. These proteins are DNA binding transcriptional activators and typically contain a paired box domain, an octapeptide, and a paired-type homeodomain. These genes play critical roles during mammalian development and cancer growth. The specific function of the PAX7 gene is unknown but speculated to play a role in myogenesis. PAX7 is involved in the specification of satellite cells in skeletal muscle. PAX7 can bind to DNA as a heterodimer with Pax-3. PAX7 antibody (mAb) (Clone 2F12H4) was raised in a Rat host. It has been validated for use in Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Western blot, it has been shown to react with Mouse samples.
