Background
-
Synonyms: Myeloma-overexpressed gene protein, MYEOV, MYEOV_HUMAN, OCIM, Oncogene in multiple myeloma.
Background: Myeov is a 313 amino acid protein that is overexpressed in a variety of cancers and is thought to play a prominent role in tumor transformation and metastasis. The gene encoding Myeov maps to human chromosome 11, which comprises approximately 4 % of human genomic DNA and is considered a gene and disease association dense chromosome. MYEOV2 (myeloma overexpressed 2) is a 57 amino acid protein that exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms and belongs to the MYEOV2 family. MYEOV2 is encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 2q37.3.
