    Purpose

A Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody to GPR84 Conjugated to the Fluorescent Dye FITC

    Cross-Reactivity

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Predicted Reactivity

    Human - 14,15 amino acid residues identical, mouse,rat - 13

    Characteristics

Anti-GPR84 (extracellular) Antibody (ABIN7043175, ABIN7044443 and ABIN7044444) is a highly specific antibody directed against an epitope of the human protein. The antibody can be used in western blot, immunohistochemistry, and live cell flow cytometry applications. It has been designed to recognize GPR84 from human, rat, and mouse samples. \nAnti-GPR84 (extracellular)-FITC Antibody (ABIN7043175, ABIN7044443 and ABIN7044444)-F) is directly conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC). The antibody can be used in immunofluorescent applications such as direct live cell flow cytometry.

    Purification

    Affinity purified on immobilized antigen.

    Immunogen

CT(S)SFDRIRGRPYTT, corresponding to amino acid residues 166-180 of human GPR84

  • Target

    GPR84 (G Protein-Coupled Receptor 84 (GPR84))

    Alternative Name

    GPR84

    Background

    Synonyms: G-protein coupled receptor 84, Inflammation-related G-protein coupled receptor EX33

Description: GPR84 is an orphan G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) activated by micromolar concentrations of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs). MCFAs that activate GPR84 are usually with carbon chain lengths of 9-14, which couples primarily to a pertussis toxin (PTX)-sensitive Gi/o pathway. The most potent agonists of GPR84 includes decanoic acid, undecanoic acid and lauric acid. GPR84 demonstrates an important role in inflammation, immunity, and cancer1-3.GPR84 is predominantly expressed in immune system-related tissues and cells, such as bone marrow, spleen, lung, lymph nodes and brain microglia, T-cells, macrophages and glial cells. Its expression is also detected in adipocytes.Studies have shown that GPR84 activation in murine macrophage-like cell line results in high levels of LPS-stimulated IL-12 p40 production. In addition, GPR84 knockout mice display increased Th2 cytokine production1-3.
