    Background
Background: N-Myc Interactor (NMI) was identified as a protein that interacts with N-Myc and C-Myc transcription factors as well as the STAT (Signal Transducers and Activators of Transcription) family of transcription factors. NMI has also been found to be a component of a transcription complex with BRCA1 and c-Myc, the complex functions to inhibit human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) gene transcription.
