  • Target

NCAPH (Non-SMC Condensin I Complex, Subunit H (NCAPH))

    Alternative Name

    CAP-H

    Background

Background: CAP-H is a subunit of the heteropentameric condensin I complex. Condensin participates in the condensation of chromosomes during cell division by facilitating positive DNA supercoiling and knotting by topoisomerase I and II and proper segregation of sister chromatids. CAP-H is a non-SMC regulatory subunit of the condensin complex that may have an important role in condensin's ability to maintain structural integrity of centromeric heterochromatin during mitosis.
