Background
- Background: TPX2 is a microtubule associated protein (MAP) that co-localizes with spindle microtubules during M-phase of the cell cycle. It may function to nucleate microtubules and initiate microtubule polymerization and assembly for spindle formation. TPX2 is a target of RanGTP, a small GTPase that coordinates spindle assembly. TPX2 protein levels peak during mitosis and are tightly regulated by ubiquitination during the cell cycle.
