    Alternative Name

    ATF7

    Background

Background: Activating transcription factor 7 (ATF7) is homologous to ATF2. ATF7 was identified as a protein that interacts with the PRL-1 protein-tyrosine phosphatase. It is a basic leucine zipper (bZIP) and C2H2- type zinc-finger containing transcription factor that binds to consensus cAMP response elements (CRE). ATF7 interacts with TAF12, a subunit of the TFIID general transcription factor, to promote transcription.
