    PDLIM5 (PDZ and LIM Domain 5 (PDLIM5))

    Alternative Name

    ENH/PDLIM5

    Background

Background: The PDZ and LIM domain 5 protein (PDLIM5) bears a PDZ (post-synaptic density-95/discs large/zone occludens-1) domain and three LIM (Lin-11 Isl-1 mec03) zinc-binding domains. PDLIM5 may function as an adaptor protein that mediates protein-protein interactions and interactions with the actin cytoskeleton. PDLIM5 has been implicated in the development of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
