- AIDA (Axin Interactor, Dorsalization Associated (AIDA))
-
Alternative Name
- AIDA
-
Background
- Background: Axin interactor and dorsalization-associated protein (AIDA) acts as a ventralizing factor during embryogenesis. By similarity AIDA is proposed to inhibit axin-mediated JNK activation by binding axin and disrupting axin homodimerization. This in turn antagonizes a Wnt/beta-catenin-independent dorsalization pathway activated by AXIN/JNK-signaling [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) Q96BJ3].
