    Alternative Name

    BRD8

    Background

Background: BRD8 (bromodomain-containing 8) has been identified as a thyroid hormone receptor coactivator as well as a GTPase activating protein (GAP) for Arf6 that regulates clathrin-dependent vesicle trafficking. BRD8 has also been identified as a gene upregulated during formation of the neointima layer of blood vessels and named smooth muscle activating protein 2 (SMAP2).
