Background
 - Background: MGA (MAX gene-associated protein) functions as a dual-specificity transcription factor which regulates the expression of both MAX-network and T-box family target genes. MGA function is activated by heterodimerization with MAX. MGA can function as a repressor or an activator. It binds to 5'-AATTTCACACCTAGGTGTGAAATT-3' core sequence and seems to regulate MYC-MAX target genes [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) Q8IWI9].
