  • Target

    KPNB1 (Karyopherin (Importin) beta 1 (KPNB1))

    Alternative Name

    KPNB1

    Background

Background: KPNB1, also known as importin (karyopherin)-beta, plays an important role in the transport of macromolecules between the cytoplasm and nucleus. KPNB1 functions as a transport receptor that binds to importin-alpha-bound cargo and docks it to the cytoplasmic side of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) for translocation through the NPC.
