  • Target

    PDCD4 (Programmed Cell Death 4 (PDCD4))

    Alternative Name

    PDCD4

    Background

Background: Programmed cell death 4 (PDCD4) has been identified as a tumor suppressor that is able to inhibit tumor invasion and neoplastic transformation. The tumor suppressor activity of PDCD4 is achieved via its ability to inhibit translation initiation of proteins essential for transformation and tumor invasion. PDCD4A inhibits translation by interacting with the RNA helicase eIF4A and the scaffolding protein eIF4G.
