  • Target

    STIL (SCL/TAL1 Interrupting Locus (STIL))

    Alternative Name

    SIL

    Background

Background: SCL-interrupting locus (SIL) plays an important role in embryonic development as well as in cellular growth and proliferation. The long-term silencing of SIL affects cell survival and cell cycle distribution as well as decreases CDC2 activity correlated with reduced phosphorylation of CDC2. SIL is a positive regulator of the sonic hedgehog pathway, acting downstream of PTCH1. [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) Q15468].
