    Background

Background: TCF12 (transcription factor 12), also known as HeLa E-box binding protein (HEB), is basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor that recognizes consensus E-box binding sites and is found to be important for T-cell development and cell differentiation. TCF12 can interact with the immunoglobulin enhancer binding proteins E12 and ITF2 as hetero-oligomers to modulate their DNA binding activity.
