    KLC1 (Kinesin Light Chain 1 (KLC1))

    Alternative Name

    KLC1

    Background

Background: Kinesin light chain 1 (KLC1) is a member of the kinesin light chain family and a subunit of the tetrameric kinesin molecule. Kinesin is an oligomeric complex comprised of two heavy chains and two light chains. Kinesin transports cellular cargo along microtubules in a plus-end direction. The heavy chain functions as the motor, while the light chain functions as an adapter molecule for binding cargo.
