  • Target

    SIK2 (Salt-Inducible Kinase 2 (SIK2))

    Alternative Name

    SIK2

    Background

Background: Salt-inducible protein kinase 2 (SIK2) phosphorylates 'Ser-794' of IRS1 in insulin-stimulated adipocytes, potentially modulating the efficiency of insulin signal transduction. Sik2 inhibits CREB activity by phosphorylating and repressing TORCs, the CREB-specific coactivators [taken from the Universal Protein Resource (UniProt) Q9H0K1].
