- AKAP1 (A Kinase (PRKA) Anchor Protein 1 (AKAP1))
-
Alternative Name
- AKAP1
-
Background
- Background: AKAP1 (A-kinase anchor protein 1) was isolated as a protein that interacts with the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) as well as the catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase 1 (PPI). AKAP1 plays a role in directing the subcellular localization of PKA to the cytoplasmic face of the outer mitochondrial membrane.
