- Nucleostemin (GNL3) (Guanine Nucleotide Binding Protein-Like 3 (Nucleolar) (GNL3))
-
Alternative Name
- GNL3
-
Background
- Background: GNL3 (guanine nucleotide binding protein-like 3), also known as nucleostemin (NS), was identified as a protein highly expressed in stem cells and downregulated in differentiated cells.GNL3 has also been found to be highly expressed in some cancer cell lines, and may play an important role in the control of cell proliferation. GNL3 functions as a GTPase and functions in the processing of nucleolar pre-rRNA.
