    SASH1 (SAM and SH3 Domain Containing 1 (SASH1))

    Alternative Name

    SASH1

    Background

Background: SASH1 (SAM and SH3 domain containing 1) was identified in an in silico analysis of loss of heterozygosity (LOH) to identify genes downregulated in breast cancer. Since this discovery, it has also been found to be a candidate tumor suppressor in colon cancer. Structurally, SASH1 contains two SAM (sterile alpha motif) domains and one SH3 domain indicating a role in signal transduction and as a signaling adapter.
