Clone
-
-
Purpose
- Anti-IL-8 [M36-11], Human IgG1, lambda
-
Specificity
- This antibody binds human interleukin-8. Interleukin-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells, but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus.

Characteristics
-
Original Species of Ab: Human
Original Format of Ab: IgG1
-
Purification
- Protein A affinity purified
-
Immunogen
- The original antibody 4-123-36 was isolated from a human single domain antibody (scFv) library by screening the library against extracellular portions of the human IL-8. Affinity maturation of this clone using mutagenesis by error-prone PCR resulted in the generation of M36-11.
-
Isotype
- IgG1 lambda

Application Notes
- The binding of this affinity-maturated antibody to hIL8 was analyzed using ELISA. This antibody is capable of blocking the biological activity of human interleukin 8 at a concentration of 1 and 10 μg/mL in a neutrophil chemotaxis assay (PMID: 20718039).
