Specificity: This antibody binds human interleukin-8. Interleukin-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells, but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus.

Application Notes: The binding of this affinity-maturated antibody to hIL8 was analyzed using ELISA. ​This antibody is capable of blocking the biological activity of human interleukin 8 at a concentration of 1 and 10 μg/mL in a neutrophil chemotaxis assay (PMID: 20718039).
