Sheep polyclonal antibody against diacylglycerol kinase α (DGKα)
Specificity
This antibody recognizes the alpha isoform of diacylglycerol kinase (DGK). DGK catalyzes a reaction terminating the protein kinase C mediated signaling by converting diacylglycerol (DAG) to phosphatidic acid (PA), a signaling lipid which is involved in DNA synthesis, phospholipid synthesis, and regulation of several enzymes.
Cross-Reactivity (Details)
Shown to recognize an 80-85kDa recombinant DGKα protein with non-specific cross activity to wild-type DGK ζ protein.
WB – 1:1000 Other in vitro and cellular applications are possible using this antibody, but have not been verified.

DGK catalyzes a reaction terminating the protein kinase C (PKC)mediated signaling by converting diacylglycerol (DAG) to phosphatidic acid (PA), a signaling lipid which is involved in DNA synthesis, phospholipid synthesis, and regulation of several enzymes. DAG is an intermediate in phospholipid synthesis which functions as an allosteric activator of PKC. The alpha isoform is a type I DGKs, and has slightly different calcium-responsiveness.
