  • Target

    MPZL1 (Myelin Protein Zero-Like 1 (MPZL1))

    Alternative Name

    MPZL1

    Background

    Synonyms: Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 21, Deubiquitinating enzyme 21, Ubiquitin thioesterase 21, Ubiquitin-specific-processing protease 21, USP21, USP23, PP1490

Tissue Specificity: Highly expressed in heart, pancreas and skeletal muscle. Also expressed in brain, placenta, liver and kidney, and at very low level in lung.

Background: Myelin protein zero-like protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MPZL1 gene. MPZL1 is a cell surface receptor, which is involved in signal transduction processes. MPZL1 recruits PTPN11/SHP-2 to the cell membrane and is a putative substrate of PTPN11/SHP-2. MPZL1 is a major receptor for concanavalin A (ConA) and is involved in cell.
