As a result, PCP induces hallucinations, distorted perceptions of reality, and a sense of detachment from the environment. The drug can be ingested orally, snorted, smoked, or injected. Diagnostic testing for PCP abuse typically involves urine analysis, as PCP and its metabolites can be detected in urine samples.
