ACTH (Corticotropin, human 39 aa) is synthesized by the anterior pituitary gland and stimulates the adrenal cortex, 6 hormones are derived from one ACTH gene: ACTH, lipotropin, alpha-MSH, beta-MSH, endorphin, and one other.
