Human neutrophil elastase (show ELANE Proteins) is involved in transactivation of TLR4 (show TLR4 Proteins) through activation of DUOX-2 (show DUOX2 Proteins)/EGFR (show EGFR Proteins) and synergistically enhances IL-12p40 production by macrophages stimulated with LPS (show IRF6 Proteins).

All the tested TLRAs induced greater infant IFN-alpha2 (show IFNA2 Proteins) production compared to newborn and adult blood. In contrast, CpG induced greater IFN-gamma (show IFNG Proteins), IL-1beta (show IL1B Proteins), IL-4 (show IL4 Proteins), IL-12p40, IL-10 (show IL10 Proteins) and CXCL8 (show IL8 Proteins) in newborn than in infant and adult blood.
Simultaneous elevated circulating levels of IL-18 (show IL18 Proteins) and IL-12 (show IL12A Proteins) increased the event rate after 2 years in Coronary Artery Disease patients, independent of hyperglycemia

The low expression of HDAC3 (show HDAC3 Proteins) and overexpession of inflammatory cytokines (IL-18 (show IL18 Proteins), IL-12 (show IL12A Proteins) and TNF-alpha (show TNF Proteins)) in intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy may be involved in liver cell apoptosis and in the pathophysiology of the disease.
Polymorphisms of IFNG (show IFNG Proteins), IL12B (show IL12B Proteins) and IL12RB1 (show IL12RB1 Proteins) genes in paracoccidioidomycosis Brazilian patients do not affect the susceptibility or resistance to the disease.
IL-12p35 suppresses lymphocyte proliferation, induces expansion of IL-10 (show IL10 Proteins)-expressing and IL-35-expressing B cells and ameliorates autoimmune uveitis.

IL-35-transduced adipocyte-derived mesenchymal stem cells in vivo can enhance proliferation of CD4 (show CD4 Proteins)(+) CD25 (show IL2RA Proteins)(+) Treg cells and suppress the function of effector T cells such as T helper (Th) 1 (show TH1L Proteins), Th2 and Th17 cells and may reduce the development of allograft rejection.
findings show that IL-12 and other proinflammatory cytokines transduce signals through the TCR signalosome in a manner that requires Fyn activity and self-peptide-MHC (self-pMHC) interactions.
this study shows that a systemic IL-12 (show IL12A Proteins) primes intestinal cells that became more prone to develop inflammatory responses, which is long-lasting because intestinal cells maintain their inflammatory potential and their ability to aggravate colitis
this study shows that endosomal signalling by Lactobacillus acidophilus that leads to IL-12 (show IL12A Proteins) production is inhibited by TLR stimulation from the plasma membrane
These results suggest a correlation between CRMP2 (show DPYSL2 Proteins) phosphorylation and AD pathophysiology, and indicate the effectiveness of pioglitazone treatment at the pre-Abeta (show APP Proteins) accumulation stage in AD model mice.
Data show that interleukin-35 (Epstein-Barr virus-induced gene 3 (EBI3) and the interleukin-12 Subunit p35 (p35) subunit) expressing plasmid downregulates the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and upregulates the expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines.
Data suggest that interleukin-35 (Epstein-Barr virus-induced gene 3 (EBI3) and the interleukin-12 Subunit p35 (p35) subunit) contributes to the increased susceptibility to secondary pneumococcal pneumonia.

Data show that cysteine significantly reduced the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including TNF-alpha (show TNF Proteins), IL-6 (show IL6 Proteins), IL-12p40, IL-1beta (show IL1B Proteins), and resulted in increased expression of the apoptosis initiator caspase-8 (show CASP8 Proteins) and bcl2L1 (show BCL2L1 Proteins).
The results showed that the expression of TNF-alpha (show TNF Proteins), iNOS (show NOS2 Proteins), and IL-6 (show IL6 Proteins) in alveolar macrophages was up-regulated by stimulation with the recombinant Mce4A protein of M. bovis; in contrast, expression of IL-12 (show IL12A Proteins) was unaffected.[IL-6 (show IL6 Proteins), IL-12 (show IL12A Proteins)]

This gene encodes a subunit of interleukin 12, a cytokine that acts on T and natural killer cells, and has a broad array of biological activities. Interleukin 12 is a disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of the 40 kD cytokine receptor like subunit encoded by this gene, and a 35 kD subunit encoded by IL12A. This cytokine is expressed by activated macrophages that serve as an essential inducer of Th1 cells development. This cytokine has been found to be important for sustaining a sufficient number of memory/effector Th1 cells to mediate long-term protection to an intracellular pathogen. Overexpression of this gene was observed in the central nervous system of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), suggesting a role of this cytokine in the pathogenesis of the disease. The promoter polymorphism of this gene has been reported to be associated with the severity of atopic and non-atopic asthma in children.
