Application Notes
- Useful in Sandwich ELISA for Quantitative Detection of Antigen. Aliquot 0.1 mL per well of the 2000pg/mL,1000pg/mL, 500pg/mL, 250pg/mL, 125pg/mL, 62.5pg/mL, 31.2pg/mL human IL-1RA standard solutions into the precoated 96-well plate. Add 0.1 mL of the sample diluent buffer into the control well (Zero well). Add 0.1 mL of each properly diluted sample of human cell culture supernates, serum or plasma(heparin, EDTA) to each empty well. It is recommended that each human IL-1RA standard solution and each sample be measured in duplicate.

Background: The interleukin-1 receptor antagonist(IL-1RA) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IL1RN gene. The human IL1RN gene was localized to the long arm of chromosome 2 at band 2q14.2 by fluorescence in situ hybridization.3 IL-1RA is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This protein inhibits the activities of interleukin 1, alpha(IL1A) and interleukin 1, beta(IL1B), and modulates a variety of interleukin 1 related immune and inflammatory responses.
