- Characteristics
-
A synthetic peptide for use as a blocking control in assays to test for specificity of MCEE antibody,
Alternative Names: MCEE control peptide, MCEE antibody Blocking Peptide, Anti-MCEE Blocking Peptide, methylmalonyl CoA epimerase Blocking Peptide, GLOD2 Blocking Peptide - Purification
- The antibody is affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific phosphopeptide. The antibody against non-phosphopeptide is removed by chromatogramphy using non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the phosphorylation site.

- Target
- MCEE (Methylmalonyl CoA Epimerase (MCEE))
- Background
- MCEE catalyzes the interconversion of D- and L-methylmalonyl-CoA during the degradation of branched chain amino acids. odd chain-length fatty acids, and other metabolites. Mutations in this gene result in methylmalonyl-CoA epimerase deficiency, which is presented as mild to moderate methylmalonic aciduria.
