    Characteristics

This is a synthetic peptide designed for use in combination with anti-SMPD2 antibody (Catalog #: ARP45415_P050). It may block above mentioned antibody from binding to its target protein in western blot and/or immunohistochecmistry under proper experimental settings. There is no guarantee for its use in other applications.

For longer periods of storage, store at -20°C. Avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Target

SMPD2 (Sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 2, Neutral Membrane (Neutral Sphingomyelinase) (SMPD2))

    Background

SMPD2 converts sphingomyelin to ceramide. Hydrolyze 1-acyl-2-lyso-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (lyso-PC) and 1-O-alkyl-2-lyso-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (lyso-platelet-activating factor). The physiological substrate seems to be Lyso-PAF.
