Alternative Name
- MLEC

Background
- MLEC belongs to the malectin family and is localized on endoplasmic reticulum membrane. This protein is a carbohydrate-binding protein with a strong ligand preference for Glc2-N-glycan and may play a role in the early steps of protein N-glycosylation. Recombinant human MLEC protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
