  • Application Notes

Each Investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications.

    Restrictions

    For Research Use only
  • Buffer

    0.1 M Tris buffer, pH 7.5, with 0.1 % NaN3 and 0.1 M NaCl.

    Preservative

    Sodium azide

    Precaution of Use

WARNING: Reagents contain sodium azide. Sodium azide is very toxic if ingested or inhaled. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wear eye or face protection when handling. If skin or eye contact occurs, wash with copious amounts of water. If ingested or inhaled, contact a physician immediately. Sodium azide yields toxic hydrazoic acid under acidic conditions. Dilute azide-containing compounds in running water before discarding to avoid accumulation of potentially explosive deposits in lead or copper plumbing.

    Handling Advice

    Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

    Storage

    4 °C/-20 °C

    Storage Comment

Store at 4 °C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 °C for long term storage.

    Alternative Name

    AFP

    Background

Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the AFP gene. Alpha-fetoprotein is a major plasma protein produced by the yolk sac and the liver during fetal life. The protein is thought to be the fetal counterpart of serum albumin, and the alpha-fetoprotein and albumin genes are present in tandem on chromosome 4.
    Description: AFP cell line.
Alternative Names: alpha-FP protein, alpha-Fetoprotein protein
