    Purpose

    Sheep IgG Fc Antibody

    Cross-Reactivity (Details)

Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum, Sheep IgG, Sheep IgG F(c) and Sheep Serum.  No reaction was observed against Sheep IgG F(ab).

    Characteristics

Anti-Sheep IgG (H&L) generated in rabbit detects sheep Immunoglobulin G. Both the Heavy and Light chains of the antibody molecule are present. Representing approximately 75 % of serum immunoglobulins, IgG is the most abundant antibody isotype found in the circulation. IgG molecules are synthesized and secreted by plasma B cells. Secondary Antibodies are available in a variety of formats and conjugate types. When choosing a secondary antibody product, consideration must be given to species and immunoglobulin specificity, conjugate type, fragment and chain specificity, level of cross-reactivity, and host-species source and fragment composition.

    Purification

Anti-Sheep IgG F(c) was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Sheep IgG coupled to agarose beads.

    Sterility

    Sterile filtered

    Immunogen

Immunogen: Anti-Sheep IgG was produced by repeated immunization with sheep IgG F(c) fragment in rabbit.

    Immunogen Type: Native Protein

  • Application Notes

Application Note: Anti-Sheep IgG F(c) antibody has been tested by ELISA and dot blot and is assayed against 1.0 μg of Sheep IgG in a standard capture ELISA using ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis-[3-ethylbenthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid]) code # ABTS-100 as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature. A working dilution of 1:2,000 to 1:8,000 of the reconstitution concentration is suggested for this product. Immunohistochemistry Dilution: 1:500 - 1:2,500 Western Blot Dilution: 1:1,000 - 1:5,000 ELISA Dilution: 1:10,000 - 1:200,000 Other: User Optimized

    Background

Receptors bind the Fc portion of sheep IgG and often this fragment is removed from immunoglobulins to minimize receptor binding and lower background reactivity. Anti-Sheep IgG F(c) antibody is ideal for investigators in Cancer, Immunology, and Microbiology research.
