More ELISA Kits for Carbonic Anhydrase XIV Interaction Partners

Zebrafish Carbonic Anhydrase XIV (CA14) interaction partners

  1. Hypoxia-inducible carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX (show CA9 ELISA Kits)) expression is insufficient to alleviate intracellular metabolic acidosis in the muscle of zebrafish, Danio rerio.

Mouse (Murine) Carbonic Anhydrase XIV (CA14) interaction partners

  1. During inner ear development, transcripts of four cytosolic isozymes (Car1 (show CA1 ELISA Kits), Car2 (show CA2 ELISA Kits), Car3 (show CA3 ELISA Kits), and Car13 (show CA13 ELISA Kits)), two membrane-bound isozymes (Car12 and Car14), and two CA-related proteins (Car8 (show CA8 ELISA Kits) and Car11 (show CA11 ELISA Kits)) were expressed at higher levels than other isozymes.

  2. CAXIV functionally interacts with AE3 (show SLC4A3 ELISA Kits), forming an extracellular membrane protein complex involved in the regulation of bicarbonate metabolism and pHi in the heart.

  3. The presence of CA XIV in the hepatocyte plasma membrane places it at a strategic site to control pH regulation and ion transport between the hepatocytes, sinusoids and bile canaliculi.

  4. carbonic anhydrase XIV has a role in selective inhibition of membrane-associated isozymes

  5. CA XIV is expressed in sarcoplasmic reticulum and sarcolemma of skeletal muscle.

  6. CA XIV, which regulates extracellular pH and pCO(2), plays an important part in producing a normal retinal light response.

  7. CA XIV (along with carbonic anhydrase 4 (show CA4 ELISA Kits)) plays an important role in the regulation of intracellular pH in hippocampus, via facilitation of anion exchanger AE3 (show SLC4A3 ELISA Kits)-mediated chloride-bicarbonate antiporter HCO3 exchange.

  8. Association of AE3 and CAXIV may represent a mechanism to enhance disposal of waste CO(2) and to balance pH in excitable tissues.

Human Carbonic Anhydrase XIV (CA14) interaction partners

  1. Data indicate that carbonic anhydrase isoform XIV (hCA XIV) shows high sequence identity with the other membrane-associated carbonic anhydrases (hCAs).

  2. No mutation was found in the coding regions and intron-exon boundaries of the genes for CA II (show CA2 ELISA Kits), CA IV (show CA4 ELISA Kits), CA XIV, kNCB1, NHE3 (show SLC9A3 ELISA Kits), NHE8 (show SLC9A8 ELISA Kits), NHRF1, NHRF2 and SLC26A6 (show SLC26A6 ELISA Kits) amplified from genomic DNA of family members with pRTA.

Carbonic Anhydrase XIV (CA14) Antigen Profile

Antigen Summary

Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid. They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization. CA XIV is predicted to be a type I membrane protein and shares highest sequence similarity with the other transmembrane CA isoform, CA XII\; however, they have different patterns of tissue-specific expression and thus may play different physiologic roles.
