Data indicate a tight binding of DEAD-box protein DDX1 to adenosine diphosphate (ADP), one of the strongest affinities observed for DEAD-box helicases.
hCLE/C14orf166 associates with DDX1, HSPC117, and FAM98B in a novel transcription-dependent shuttling RNA-transporting complex.
archease (also called ZBTB8OS), a protein of unknown function, is required for full activity of the human tRNA ligase complex and, in cooperation with DDX1, facilitates the formation of an RTCB-guanylate intermediate central to mammalian RNA ligation
subcellular localization of KSRP (show KHSRP Proteins) is regulated by competing interactions with DDX1 or 14-3-3 (show YWHAQ Proteins)
DDX1 depletion causes accumulation of DNA damage in response to cisplatin and defects in DNA repair of double-stranded breaks.
DDX1 was shown to be an RNA-activated ATPase, wherein Rev-bound RNA was equally effective at stimulating ATPase activity as protein-free RNA.
DDX1 acts as a cellular cofactor by promoting oligomerization of Rev on the Rev response element.
elevated levels of DDX1 RNA or the presence of DDX1 in the cytoplasm could serve as an effective prognostic biomarker for early recurrence in primary breast cancer.
we show that the transcript levels of an RNA helicase, Ddx1, regulates strain differences in the amount of nitric oxide produced by macrophage after stimulation with interferon gamma (show IFNG Proteins) and tumor necrosis factor (show TNF Proteins).
Coronavirus N phosphorylation by GSK-3 allows recruitment of the RNA helicase DDX1, which facilitates template readthrough and enables longer viral positive-sense single-stranded genomic RNA synthesis.

DDX1 mRNA was produced in both seminoma and nonseminoma types of human testicular germ cell tumor samples
DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are implicated in a number of cellular processes involving alteration of RNA secondary structure such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Based on their distribution patterns, some members of this family are believed to be involved in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. This gene encodes a DEAD box protein of unknown function. It shows high transcription levels in 2 retinoblastoma cell lines and in tissues of neuroectodermal origin.
