Through the translational regulation of novel RNA targets SMC1B (show SMC1B Antibodies) and TEX11 (show TEX11 Antibodies), DAZL may have a key role in regulating chromosome cohesion and DNA recombination; two processes fundamental in determining oocyte quality and whose establishment in foetal life may support lifelong fertility.
hypermethylation of DAZL and BOULE (show BOLL Antibodies) promoters in human sperm is associated with human infertility
data can be used to further elucidate the role of NANOS3 (show NANOS3 Antibodies) and DAZL in germ cell development both in vitro and in vivo
DAZL was not expressed either in normal cultures or lesions from cervixes with papillomavirus infections and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
analysis demonstrated that SNP260 of DAZL did not contribute to oligo/azoospermia while SNP386 was correlated to male infertility
Neither the A260G nor the A386G polymorphism of DAZL appeared to be involved in male infertility.
demonstrate that Boll (show BOLL Antibodies) is also transiently expressed during oogenesis in the fetal mouse ovary, but is simultaneously co-expressed within the same germ cells as Dazl
Abnormal DNA methylation (show HELLS Antibodies) of the DAZL promoter might represent an epigenetic marker of male infertility.
Amniotic fluid-derived stem cells (AFSc) seem to express Nodal, Nanog (show NANOG Antibodies) and DAZL and it speculated that the regulation of self-renewal in AFSc could be similar as in human embryonic stem cells.
The A260G and A386G polymorphisms of the DAZL gene are not correlated with astheno-teratozoospermia-induced male infertility in the Han Chinese population.
Cortical depth and differential transport of vegetally localized dorsal and germ line determinants, Wnt8a (show WNT8A Antibodies), grip2a, and Dazl, in the zebrafish embryo have been presented.
that DAZL specifically binds the HuB 3'UTR (show UTS2R Antibodies) and protects the message from degradation and/or enhances HuB translation, leading to the germ cell specific expression of HuB protein.
DAZL relieves miRNA-mediated repression of germline mRNAs by controlling poly(A) tail length in zebrafish
Data show that DAZ-like protein directly promotes the translation of the target mRNAs in vertebrates.
analysis of genomic structure and transcript variants of the bovine DAZL gene
The dynamic intracellular localization suggests that Dazl is a multifunctional protein regulating RNA metabolism required for Xenopus germline development
Daz- and pumilio-like genes are asymmetrically localized in Pelophylax (Rana) oocytes and are expressed during early spermatogenesis.
Dazl has the ability to stimulate translation and function at the level of translation initiation.
Down-regulated expression of Sox9 (show SOX9 Antibodies) and Dazl may play important roles in MBP (show MBP Antibodies)-induced testis injury.
DAZL and CPEB1 (show CPEB1 Antibodies) regulate mRNA translation during oocyte maturation.
findings demonstrate that DAZL associates with mRNA of Tet1 (show TET1 Antibodies), a catalyst of 5-hydroxylation of methyl-cytosine, and enhances Tet1 (show TET1 Antibodies) mRNA translation; DAZL enhances TET1 (show TET1 Antibodies)-mediated cytosine hydroxymethylation in embryonic stem cells that are actively reprogramming to a pluripotent ground state
Both yeast and mouse contain an RNA-binding protein, Rim4 (show RIMS4 Antibodies) and DAZL, respectively, that functions in translation and forms SDS (show SDS Antibodies)-resistant aggregates during gametogenesis.
Our findings strengthen the importance of RA and Dazl in the meiotic transition, provide important details about the Stra8 (show STRA8 Antibodies) pathway, and open avenues to investigate early meiosis through analysis of Rec8 (show REC8 Antibodies) induction and function
Data indicate that the germ cell-specific RNA binding protein DAZL limits both pluripotency and somatic differentiation in nascent primordial germ cells (PGCs).
Studies indicate that in Dazl-Knockout mice, cord/tubule-like structures, OSE invaginations and clusters of steroidogenic cells became increasingly prominent with age, but these abnormal structures remained benign.
alternative splicing of exon8 of mDazl leads to the generation of the novel splice variant, Dazl-Delta8.
DAZL was translocated to stress granules upon heat stress. Furthermore, stress granule assembly was significantly diminished in the early male germ cells of Dazl-knockout mice. DAZL induced the sequestration of signaling molecules such as RACK (show GNB2L1 Antibodies).
cloning & characterization of the Deleted in AZoospermia Like (pDAZL) gene; pDAZL gene might be a good candidate gene of litter size trait & provides some marker information for marker-assisted selection.
DNA methylation (show HELLS Antibodies) may suppress DAZL expression in somatic cells by interfering with Sp1 (show SP1 Antibodies) binding.
The porcine DAZL coding sequence is highly homologous to those reported for the human and mouse cDNAs, and DAZL expression increases during oocyte maturation.
MK is able to maintain a proliferative PGC (show PGC Antibodies) phenotype mediated by the suppression of DAZL in early germ cells
DAZL enhances in vitro derived porcine germ cell formation and meiosis.
DAZL c.570+385 A>G and DAZL c.735+150 C>A locus were the potential molecular markers for improving the sperm quality traits in pigs.
The DAZ (Deleted in AZoospermia) gene family encodes potential RNA binding proteins that are expressed in prenatal and postnatal germ cells of males and females. The protein encoded by this gene is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of fetal germ cells and to the cytoplasm of developing oocytes. In the testis, this protein is localized to the nucleus of spermatogonia but relocates to the cytoplasm during meiosis where it persists in spermatids and spermatozoa. Transposition and amplification of this autosomal gene during primate evolution gave rise to the DAZ gene cluster on the Y chromosome. Mutations in this gene have been linked to severe spermatogenic failure and infertility in males. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
