The individuals carrying the deletions of GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies) and GSTT1 were at risk for Neurocysticercosis (NCC (show SLC12A3 Antibodies)). Genetic variants of GSTM3 (show glutathione S-transferase mu 3 (brain) Antibodies) and GSTP1 (show GSTP1 Antibodies) were not associated with NCC (show SLC12A3 Antibodies).
It was observed that the variant genotypes of GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies), GSTT1, GSTP1 (show GSTP1 Antibodies) and CYP1A1 (show CYP1A1 Antibodies) did not significantly increase the risk of cervical cancer (CC), however, statistically significant increased risk was observed for women who used wood for cooking and had GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies) (null) genotype.
The genotype GSTT1+/GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies)- seems to favour development of Alzheimer disease
we conclude that the GSTT1 null polymorphism is not associated with the risk of developing renal cancer, since it has limited role
GSTT1 null genotype was associated with an increased risk of chronic myeloid leukemia (show BCL11A Antibodies), as were the double null GSTT1 and GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies) genotypes
first meta-analysis to prove a positive effect of the interaction between GSTT1 null genotype and smoking status on the risk of Coronary Heart Disease.
Our data suggest that a GSTT1 null polymorphism might be associated with decreased risk for preeclampsia in the Chinese population, and that this risk decreases with the combination of both GSTT1 and GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies) null polymorphisms.
GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies) null, GSTT1 null and GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies)/T1 both or either null genotype carriers were at increased risk compared with GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies) active, GSTT1 active and GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies)/T1 both active genotypes, respectively.
Our results show that melanoma is apparently independent of a genetic lack of GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies)/GSTT1
Genotypic combinations of GSTM1 (show GSTM1 Antibodies)/GSTT1, rs4646903/rs1048943, and rs1801133/rs1801394 exhibited significant linkage with urothelial bladder carcinoma.
minor structural changes in the C-terminal helix of mouse GST T1-1 induce major changes in the substrate-activity profile of the enzyme to favor novel chemical reactions and to suppress other reactions catalyzed by the parental enzyme
The carcinogenic effects of DCM in the mouse are caused by the interaction with DNA of a glutathione (GSH) conjugate that is produced by the class theta glutathione S-transferase T1-1 (GST T1-1).
Gstt1-null mice would be useful as an animal model of humans with the GSTT1-null genotype.
Glutathione S-transferase (GST) theta 1 (GSTT1) is a member of a superfamily of proteins that catalyze the conjugation of reduced glutathione to a variety of electrophilic and hydrophobic compounds. Human GSTs can be divided into five main classes: alpha, mu, pi, theta, and zeta. The theta class includes GSTT1 and GSTT2. The GSTT1 and GSTT2 share 55% amino acid sequence identity and both of them were claimed to have an important role in human carcinogenesis. The GSTT1 gene is located approximately 50kb away from the GSTT2 gene. The GSTT1 and GSTT2 genes have a similar structure, being composed of five exons with identical exon/intron boundaries.
