The SNPs in the region of HMGN3 gene formed a tightly combined haplotype block in both Chinese and Caucasians. The results suggest that the genomic region containing HMGN3 gene may be associated with spine BS in Chinese.
loss of HMGN3 impairs glucose-stimulated insulin (show INS Antibodies) secretion and leads to a diabetic phenotype.
Hmgn3 may play an important role during mouse decidualization.
Phenotypic analysis of Hmgn1 (show HMGN1 Antibodies)(tm1/tm1 (show TPM2 Antibodies)), Hmgn3(tm1/tm1 (show TPM2 Antibodies)), and Hmgn5 (show HMGN5 Antibodies)(tm1/tm1 (show TPM2 Antibodies)) mice and their wild type littermates with a battery of standardized tests uncovered variant-specific abnormalities.
HMGN3a/b-stimulated H3K14 acetylation across the bodies of large genes such as Glyt1 (show GLYT1 Antibodies) can lead to more efficient transcription elongation and increased mRNA production
Our studies demonstrate a link between HMGN3 and glucagon (show GCG Antibodies) blood levels that is not directly dependent of the function of pancreatic alpha-cells.
results suggest that HMGN3 regulates glycine transporter 1 (show GLYT1 Antibodies) expression and demonstrate that members of the HMGN family can regulate the transcription of specific genes
Thyroid hormone receptors are hormone-dependent transcription factors that regulate expression of a variety of specific target genes. The protein encoded by this gene binds thyroid hormone receptor beta, but only in the presence of thyroid hormone. The encoded protein, a member of the HMGN protein family, is thought to reduce the compactness of the chromatin fiber in nucleosomes, thereby enhancing transcription from chromatin templates. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
