LPCAT2 encodes a member of the lysophospholipid acyltransferase family. Additionally we are shipping LPCAT2 Antibodies (44) and LPCAT2 Kits (15) and many more products for this protein.

three of these five genes (CXCL14 (show CXCL14 Proteins), ITGAX (show ITGAX Proteins), and LPCAT2) harbored polymorphisms associated with aggressive disease development in a human GWAS cohort consisting of 1,172 prostate cancer patients.
Data indicate a strong negative correlation between ALOX15 (show ALOX15 Proteins), FADS2 (show FADS2 Proteins), and IL5RA (show IL5RA Proteins) expression with 2-arachidonoylglycerophosphocholine levels in dual asthmatic responses.
LPCAT1 (show LPCAT1 Proteins) and -2 have, in addition to their known function in specialized cells, a ubiquitous role in LD-associated lipid metabolism
Our enzymatic assays strongly suggest that the cDNA previously identified as LPCAT2/lyso platelet-activating factor-acetyltransferase cDNA has AGPAT activity and thus we prefer to identify this clone as AGPAT11 as well.
The enzyme acetyl-CoA:LYSO-PAF acetyltransferase catalyzes not only biosynthesis of PAF upon acute inflammatory stimula (show KIAA0101 Proteins)tion but also (show KIAA0101 Proteins)incorporation of arachidonoyl-CoA to produce PAF precursor (show KIAA0101 Proteins) membrane glycerophospholipids for membrane biogenesis.
LPCAT2 was detected in wild-type spinal cord microglia, and the absence of LPCAT2 expression precluded spinal platelet-activating factor expression in LPCAT2-knockout mice.
We show a new signaling pathway for rapid biosynthesis of PAF (show KIAA0101 Proteins) that is mediated by phosphorylation of LPCAT2 at Ser (show SIGLEC1 Proteins)-34.
Specific inhibition of the PAF (show KIAA0101 Proteins) biosynthetic activity by phosphorylated LPCAT2 will provide a novel target for the regulation of inflammatory disorders.
Cloned the mouse acetyl-CoA:LYSO-PAF acetyltransferase (show LPCAT1 Proteins) and found that the enzyme catalyzed not only biosynthesis of PAF (show KIAA0101 Proteins) from lyso-PAF (show KIAA0101 Proteins) but also incorporation of arachidonoyl-CoA to produce PAF (show KIAA0101 Proteins) precursor membrane glycerophospholipids.
This gene encodes a member of the lysophospholipid acyltransferase family. The encoded enzyme may function in two ways: to catalyze the biosynthesis of platelet-activating factor (1-O-alkyl-2-acetyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) from 1-O-alkyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, and to catalyze the synthesis of glycerophospholipid precursors from arachidonyl-CoA and lysophosphatidylcholine. The encoded protein may function in membrane biogenesis and production of platelet-activating factor in inflammatory cells. The enzyme may localize to the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi.
