  1. A novel mammal-specific three partite enhancer element regulates node and notochord-specific Noto expression.

  2. noto and foxj1 (show FOXJ1 Antibodies) have roles in node formation, nodal ciliogenesis and cilia positioning

  3. findings suggest that Noto is involved in both rearrangement and morphogenesis of the tail bud during notochord formation.

  4. Noto ss an essential regulator of node morphogenesis and ciliogenesis in the posterior notochord.

  5. Lack of Noto correlates with misplacing and wrong directed differentiation of the tissue in the tail bud region

Notochord Homeobox (NOTO) Antigen Profile

Protein Summary

Transcription regulator acting downstream of both FOXA2 and T during notochord development. Required for node morphogenesis. Is essential for cilia formation in the posterior notochord (PNC) and for left-right patterning\; acts upstream of FOXJ1 and RFX3 in this process and is required for the expression of various components important for axonemal assembly and function. Plays a role in regulating axial versus paraxial cell fate (By similarity).
