the expression of S100A12 protein and mRNA was downregulated in a large number of clinical samples of GC. Low expression of S100A12 exhibited a marked propensity toward the clinicopathologic features such as tumor size, depth of invasion, TNM (show ODZ1 Antibodies) stage, Lauren classification, tumor cell differentiation, and poor survival in GC patients.
Serum S100A12 was significantly higher in rheumatoid arthritis patients than controls, and was correlated with disease activity.
Findings suggest that S100 proteins S100A12 and S100A8 (show S100A8 Antibodies)/A9 are secreted independently either via distinct mechanisms of secretion or following the activation of different signal transduction pathways.
an elevated serum level of S100A12 was an independent determinant of the progression of abdominal aortic calcification determined by lateral lumbar X-ray in Hemodialysis patients.
Our findings indicate that chitotriosidase and S10012A are useful in diagnosis and detection of subclinical inflammation and/or assessment of disease activity in FMF (show MEFV Antibodies) patients.
This is the first kinetics study of levels of RAGE (show AGER Antibodies) main isoforms and ligands during ARDS. Elevated sRAGE, HMGB1 (show HMGB1 Antibodies) and S100A12, with decreased esRAGE and AGEs, were found to distinguish patients with ARDS from those without.
S100A12 is a biomarker of chronic heart failure that may also predict major cardiovascular events in patients with chronic heart failure.
High mRNA expression of S100A12 is associated with bladder transitional cell carcinoma.
These findings suggested that S100A12 is an effective marker for inflammatory diseases.
High serum S100A12 expression is associated with poor response to therapy in Crohn's disease.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein is proposed to be involved in specific calcium-dependent signal transduction pathways and its regulatory effect on cytoskeletal components may modulate various neutrophil activities.
