SIRT7 trans-represses RPS7 (show RPS7 Antibodies) gene in the presence of HBx protein.HBx enhances intracellular stability of SIRT7 protein.
Data indicate that compared to non-neoplastic endometria (NNE (show ENO1 Antibodies)), endometrial cancer (EC) showed SIRT7 mRNA overexpression, whereas SIRT1 (show SIRT1 Antibodies), SIRT2 (show SIRT2 Antibodies), SIRT4 (show SIRT4 Antibodies) and SIRT5 (show SIRT5 Antibodies) were underexpressed, and no significant differences were observed for SIRT3 (show SIRT3 Antibodies) and SIRT6 (show SIRT6 Antibodies).
This study showed that SIRT7 can be activated by DNA to hydrolyze the acetyl group from lysine residues in vitro on histone peptides and histones in the chromatin context.
Novel interactions of TPPII (show Tpp2 Antibodies), p53 (show TP53 Antibodies), and SIRT7 presented in this study might contribute to the knowledge of the regulatory effects of these proteins on apoptotic pathways and to the understanding mechanisms of aging and lifespan regulation.
SIRT7 deacetylates U3-55k (show RRP9 Antibodies), enhancing U3-55k (show RRP9 Antibodies) binding to U3 snoRNA, which is a prerequisite for pre-rRNA processing.
this is the first report on the regulation mechanism of SIRT7 gene, in which, HDAC3 (show HDAC3 Antibodies) collaborated with C/EBPalpha (show CEBPA Antibodies) to occupy its responding element in the upstream region of SIRT7 gene and repressed its expression in human cells.
SIRT3 (show SIRT3 Antibodies) and SIRT7 possess tumour suppressor properties in the context of pancreatic cancer.
Sirt7 expression was implicated with high histological grade and independently predicted poor clinical outcome in patients with breast cancer, suggesting that Sirt7 might play a role in the malignant progression of breast cancer.
SIRT7 might play a role of oncogene (show RAB1A Antibodies) in ovarian malignancy. Down-regulation of SIRT7 significantly reduced ovarian cancer cell growth, repressed colony formation and increased cancer cell apoptosis; up-regulation promoted the migration of cancer cells.
Sirt7 is overexpressed in human gastric cancers. Expression of Sirt7 is markedly correlated with tumor size, metastasis, disease stage and prognosis.
miR (show MLXIP Antibodies)-93 inhibits the metabolic target Sirt7, which we identified as a major driver of in vivo adipogenesis via induction of differentiation and maturation of early adipocyte precursors.
The role of SIRT7 has emerged in protein synthesis, chromatin remodelling, cellular survival and lipid metabolism.
SIRT7 stabilizes and activates the GABP alpha (show GABPA Antibodies)/GABPbeta complex via deacetylation of GABPbeta1.
SIRT7 controls hepatic lipid metabolism by regulating the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway.
Study identifies SIRT7 as a cofactor of Myc (show MYC Antibodies) for transcriptional repression and delineates a druggable regulatory branch of the ER stress response that prevents and reverts fatty liver disease.
Mybbp1a (show MYBBP1A Antibodies) is a novel negative regulator of Sirt7.
SirT7 plays a dominant role in the growth inhibition of the P19 (show CDKN2D Antibodies) cells.
SIRT7 is a positive regulator of Pol I transcription and is required for cell viability in mammals.
Suggest a critical role of Sirt7 in the regulation of stress responses and cell death in the heart. Enhanced p53 (show TP53 Antibodies) activation by lack of Sirt7-mediated deacetylation contributes to the heart phenotype of Sirt7 mutant mice.
Using Sirt7 knockout and overexpressing cells we demonstrate an anti-proliferative role of Sirt7. We also show that Sirt7 expression inversely correlates with the tumorigenic potential of several murine cell lines
This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined\; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class IV of the sirtuin family.
