Description
Microtubule Associated Protein 2 exists in two high molecular weight forms (2a and 2b)and a low molecular weight form (2c). The expression of MAP2 is developmentallyregulated and its multiple forms arise by alternative splicing of a single gene.
Specificity
Anti-MAP-2 recognizes (Mr 300 kDa)MAP-2 protein from bovine brain and dendrites andcell bodies of neurons. Anti-MAP-2 (Clone AP20) reacts with the high molecular weight forms (2a & 2b) of MAP-2but not with the low molecular weight form (2c). Species: Bovine. The antibody strongly cross-reacts with MAP-2 from human, rat, mouse,Xenopus, quail and chicken brains. Others not tested.
Application Notes
This antibody can be used in immunohistochemistry on tissues or cell usingimmunofluorescence techniques. The suggested working dilution forimmunohistochemical staining is approximately 1: 500. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
