This antibody recognises the erythrocyte transmembrane glycoprotein glycophorin C (CD236R). Clone BRIC 4 specifically reacts with an epitope located within residues 2-21 of glycophorin C.
Flow Cytometry. Immunohistochemistry on Frozen Sections. Western Blot. Haemagglutination. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Viral Protein
Background
CD236 is an integral membrane protein which carries the Gerbich blood group antigens. Expression of CD236 is not restricted to erythroid cells, but is broadly distributed in both erythroid and non-erythroid tissues.Synonyms: GLPC, GPC, Glycoconnectin, Glycophorin-D, Glycoprotein beta, PAS-2', Sialoglycoprotein D
