| Description | The transcription factor ATF-2 (also called CRE-BP1) is a member of the ATF/CREB family ofleucine zipper proteins. ATF-2 forms homodimers and heterodimers with c-Jun to initiateCRE-dependent transcription. Phosphorylation of ATF-2 at Thr69 and Thr71 bystress-activated kinases is necessary for transcriptional activation. Myc also inducesphosphorylation of ATF-2 at Thr69 and Thr71 to prolong the half-life of ATF-2. ATF-2 alsofunctions as a histone acetyltransferase (HAT) by specifically acetylating histones H2B andH4 in vitro. |
| Specificity | The antibody detects phosphorylated ATF-2 (Thr69 and Thr71). Species: Human, Mouse, Rat. Others not tested. |
