CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: S-(2-hydroxyacyl)glutathione + H2O = glutathione + a 2-hydroxy carboxylate.
SUBUNIT: Monomer.
SIMILARITY: Belongs to the glyoxalase II family.
COFACTOR: Binds 2 zinc ions per subunit.
