Background Function: The alpha-2/delta subunit of voltage-dependent calcium channels regulates calcium current density and activation/inactivation kinetics of the calcium channel. Plays an important role in excitation-contraction coupling.
Subcellular location: Membrane, Single-pass type I membrane protein
Tissue specificity: Central nervous system, skeletal muscle and aorta tissues.
Miscellaneous: Binds gabapentin, an antiepileptic drug. Also known as: Voltage-dependent calcium channel subunit alpha-2/delta-1, Voltage-gated calcium channel subunit alpha-2/delta-1, CACNL2A, CCHL2A, MHS3.
Application Notes A concentration of 10-50 µg/ml is recommended.
The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user.
Not yet tested in other applications.

Reconstitution Reconstitute in 500 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

Storage Comment Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
