Additional Information

Alternative name Cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide (CAP-18, hCAP-18, antibacterial protein LL-37, CAMP, CRAMP, FALL39)
Swiss-Prot P49913
Immunogen A synthetic peptide as a part of human Cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide (CAP-18, hCAP-18, antibacterial protein LL-37, CAMP, CRAMP, FALL39) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Isotype IgG  (Matching secondary antibodies)
Description Cathelicidin antimicrobial protein is an antimicrobial protein found in specific granules of polymorphonuclear leukocytes. FUNCTION: Binds to bacterial lipopolysaccharides (LPS), has antibacterial activity. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in bone marrow and testis and neutrophils. Also known as: CAMP, CAP18, FALL39, FALL-39, 18 kDa cationic antimicrobial protein, CAP-18, hCAP-18, LL37, CRAMP, HSD26.
Specificity Appears to be specific for Cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. Use at a concentration of 10-50 µ/ml. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user.
Purity IgG
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only

Staining of a cytospin preparation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells isolated from buffycoat. Cells were left to air dry and then fixed with cold acetone (90 seconds) and blocked with PBS containing 1% FCS and 0.1% saponin (blocking buffer) for 20 minutes. Cells were then washed twice in PBS and incubated with Sheep antibody to human Cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide: IgG (ABIN350187), diluted 50 µg/ml: in blocking buffer, for 1 hour at room temperature. Cells were washed twice in PBS followed by incubation for 30 minutes with the FITC-labeled secondary antibody. Finally, cells were washed and nuclear counterstained with DAPI.  The antibody selectively recognizes polymorphonuclar cells.

WB on human neutrophil lysate using Sheep antibody to human Cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide (CAP-18, hCAP-18, antibacterial protein LL-37, CAMP, CRAMP, FALL39): IgG (ABIN350187) at 50 µg/ml concentration. Pre-absorption of the antibody with the immunising peptide completely abolishes the detected band.
