Immunogen A synthetic peptide from human Vesicle-associated membrane protein 3 (VAMP-3, VAMP3 Synaptobrevin-3, Cellubrevin, SYB3, CEB) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in rat and mouse.
Isotype IgG
Specificity Appears to be specific for VAMP3.
Purity IgG
Alternative Name Vesicle-associated membrane protein 3 (VAMP3, Synaptobrevin-3, Cellubrevin)
Background Synaptobrevins/VAMPs, syntaxins, and the 25-kD synaptosomal-associated protein are the main components of a protein complex involved in the docking and/or fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane. This gene is a member of the vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP)/synaptobrevin family. Because of its high homology to other known VAMPs, its broad tissue distribution, and its subcellular localization, the protein encoded by this gene was shown to be the human equivalent of the rodent cellubrevin. In platelets the protein resides on a compartment that is not mobilized to the plasma membrane on calcium or thrombin stimulation.
Function: Trafficking protein from a constitutively recycling pathway.
Subcellular location: Membrane, Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Cell junction, synapse, synaptosome. Also known as: VAMP-3, VAMP3, Synaptobrevin-3, Cellubrevin, SYB3, CEB.
UniProt Q15836
Application Notes IHC, WB. A working concentration of 10-50 µg/ml is recommended. The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Lyophilized
Storage -20 °C
